What We Publish

Heart Song is an imprint of Nocturna Press. For this publication we welcome human-authored pieces that explore the inner landscape of being human, including:

love in all its forms
relationships and connection
personal growth and self‑understanding
inner peace, presence, and grounding
emotional wellness and healing
gentle reflections and small awakenings
stories told with honesty, softness, and sincerity

Poetry, essays, and short reflections are all welcome. Length is flexible — Heart Song values resonance over word count.

What We Do Not Publish

Heart Song is rooted in human expression and feeling. For that reason, we are not interested in pieces generated by artificial intelligence (AI) or works that include AI‑created images. We do not publish writing that pushes religious or political viewpoints, provides direct medical advice, endorses or advocates for specific dietary lifestyles, or contains material that harms, shames, or divides. We also avoid stories centered on abuse or self‑harm. Heart Song is meant to be a gentle place to land.

Our Tone

This is a space for tenderness, clarity, and emotional truth. We avoid harshness, judgment, or sensationalism. Write as if you’re speaking to someone you care about.

How to Submit

Medium currently requires contributors to be approved manually, so here’s how to share your work:

Send your Medium profile link and either a copy of your unpublished article or a link to your already published piece to submissions@nocturna.media with ‘Heart Song Submission’ in the subject line. (works must not be an active part of another publication, but may be published to your own profile)
Include a short note about the piece you’d like to submit
Include one header image that is 1600 × 900 pixels (or the same aspect ratio). This ensures your image stays sharp, properly centered, and isn’t stretched or cropped when Medium formats your story. (our image at the bottom of this post is 1600 × 900 pixels)
We'll add you as an Approved Writer
Once added, you’ll be able to submit stories directly to Heart Song

Writers will be added as Approved Writers only for the submission process, which allows you to send your piece to Heart Song through Medium. Approval does not grant ongoing publishing access. Each submitted story will be reviewed individually, and selected pieces will be published on a case‑by‑case basis. After the review process is complete, writer access may be removed to keep the publication curated and intentional.
